Is acupuncture painful?
In most cases, insertion by a skilled practitioner is performed with no discomfort. Acupuncture treatment is very relaxing and tranquil.
Acupuncture needles are as fine as a human hair and very malleable, unlike a hypodermic needle which is hollow and has a large diameter.

How many treatments are necessary?
Many conditions are cured rapidly by acupuncture and herbs; however, chronic conditions will likely require consistent progress. Oriental medicine is used for healing most conditions, yet some diseases can be more effectively treated with Western medicine.

What should I expect at my first appointment?
A first visit consists of a thorough diagnostic interview. Be prepared for questions regarding your daily routine as well as past surgeries, treatments, medications, traumas, etc. These factors may affect your current course of treatment. Once the diagnosis is complete, you may receive treatment in the form of acupuncture, acupressure, herbal therapy, or a combination. Plan your schedule so that after treatment, you will not have to overexert yourself. Remember to continue taking any prescription medicines as recommended by your doctor.
