Feng Shui

Feng Shui translated literally means “wind” and “water”, which focuses on the space and environment around us and how these factors affect our overall well-being. It encompasses the forces and energies of nature that influence our everyday lives. If you practice feng shui in all of the ways this technique provides, you can maximize the space and things around you to help you be more productive and be more content.

This post will be the first of a series of posts of different ways feng shui can help improve your life. If you are looking for a change, or feel stuck with the way things are currently, we recommend trying these feng shui practices.

Weight Loss:

When it comes to developing good eating habits, we can end up changing our plans instantly due to the proximity and closeness of food around us. If your refrigerators, freezers, and pantries are always full of food, yet you never seem to eat anything in there and it ends up having to be thrown away, you need to practice good feng shui.

If you are trying to lose weight but seem to be taking two steps forward and always one big step back, you might need to consider the way food is presented around you. In order to practice good feng shui, try these things to help you stick to your weight loss goals:

-keep your pantry full of essentials only; ex. beans, lentils, hearty soups, whole grain rice, whole grain bread, pasta, canned vegetables, nuts, seeds, nut butters, etc.

-keep your fridge half full of essentials and room for more: ex. plant-based milk, fruits you eat often, vegetables you eat often, condiments, cheeses, lean meat, etc.

-keep your freezer half full with frozen fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and make sure to put any food, such as bread or bananas, in the other half of the freezer to save them from rotting

When food piles up in your kitchen, you might feel obligated to eat whatever is available or what looks like needs to be eaten. It is important to know exactly what is in your fridge, freezer, and pantry at all times. Not only will this practice keep you from throwing too many old things away again, but when you are planning on cooking you will already know what you have, what you need and it should help encourage you to stick to cooking, instead of giving up and ordering take-out.

Maintaining good feng shui is all about energy and functionality. If your kitchen is full of clutter, you might not want to spend time there because it can be stressful/frustrating when you do get the confidence to actually cook.

Make your kitchen YOUR kitchen! You should know what you have and be owning it and bringing in good energy and connections when it is time to cook for you or your family!
